According to reporter Chris Klippel, the development of GTA 6 is said to be in an extremely chaotic state and has already been restarted several times. This could be the reason why we have been waiting for official information for a long time.
Eight years after “Grand Theft Auto 5” was first published, there is still no sign of life regarding a successor. The reason for this could be difficulties in development.
This is what Chris Klippel, a reporter from Rockstar Mag, claims now. According to him, the development is “a big mess”.
“I can tell you that it was confirmed to me – and I cannot go into details – that to this day it is Rockstar’s most chaotic project since it was founded,” said Klippel. The situation is even worse than with “Grand Theft Auto IV” and “Red Dead Redemption”, whose development was also bumpy: “In comparison, that’s nothing.”
What are the speculations concerning GTA 6’s development?
After Dan Houser’s departure, the development of the grandiose open world project was allegedly redirected. He was the creative genius behind titles like “Red Dead Redemption” and “GTA 5” was the co-founder of Rockstar Games. The reason for his leaving remains a mystery to this day. Rockstar Games has also parted ways with Leslie Benzies and Lazlow Jones. It is difficult to substitute for the loss of such essential managers, which obviously has a detrimental influence on the development of future initiatives. Before Dan Houser’s departure, the plot was claimed to have been changed multiple times.
The game, according to Klippel, takes place in two separate historical periods. The storyline of “Project Americas” was already set in the 1970s and 1980s, according to the “Project Americas” leak. Furthermore, the game should be made more accessible to a wider audience. The reporter requests to examine the map but refuses to divulge any information. This isn’t possible because so much has changed in the interim. According to Klippel, “Grand Theft Auto 6” should have been unveiled last year. Industry insiders like Tom Henderson and Jason Schreier now predict that the release will be delayed until 2025.
Rockstar Games has yet to respond on this matter. However, the development issues would explain why there was so much silence about GTA 6 for so long.
